The conference was held at the Beach Club Resort in Parksville, B.C. on 2018 April 20th and 21st.
This is the main display of our set-up in the conference's Vendors' Room. The display table is dominated by Steve Cowan's educational display made up of two fold-outs of three panels each. Lying on the table are examples of shields and arms and the different ways in which they can be depicted.
Just to the right of the main display is a very nice depiction of David Hjalmarson's family, going back centuries.
Further to the right, on a side table, is a very wide tree of the Parkinson family in Barbados, the family being connected to our branch treasurer, Don Mayers.
Here, Sir John Cave-Browne-Cave stands proudly beside his family tree.
Branch member Sir John Cave-Browne-Cave, branch webmaster Lee Van Horne, and branch editor-in-chief John Neill stand guard in front of the main display. Other staff members not shown were branch president Steve Cowan (who organized this heraldic display), branch treasurer Don Mayers, and branch director David Hjalmarson.
Steve Cowan and Don Mayers talk heraldry with a conference attendee.
Don continues the chat while . . .
. . . Steve joins Sir John helping another conference attendee who has questions about a coat-of-arms displayed on her tablet.
